About the Role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Data Mining Executive with proven experience in the Intellectual Property (IP) domain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting, extracting, and analyzing patent and non-patent literature data to support IP research, patentability searches, freedom-to-operate analysis, and other related projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Extract, clean, and structure large sets of patent and IP-related data from various databases and sources.
- Perform data mining to identify trends, insights, and relevant IP information.
- Support patent searches, landscape analysis, and competitive intelligence projects by providing relevant datasets and analytics.
- Maintain and update IP databases to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Generate periodic reports and dashboards as per project requirements.
- Collaborate with patent analysts and IP attorneys to interpret data mining results for actionable insights.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and confidentiality standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in data mining specifically in the IP/patent domain.
- Good understanding of patent databases (e.g., PatBase, Derwent, Orbit, Patseer, Google Patents).
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Hands-on experience with data mining tools and techniques; familiarity with Excel, SQL, Python or other data tools is a plus.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
- Prior experience working with IP law firms, patent research companies.
- Knowledge of patent classifications (IPC, CPC, USPC) and patent lifecycle.
