ETSI maintains a database of all patents declared by the standard contributors. So far, ETSI has released data for 4.5 million patents per se.

- To standardize the ETSI-declared patent database requires a lot of effort. Different declarations follow different formats of patent numbers, specification numbers, Assignee names, etc. To give an accurate and holistic understanding of the declared information, our team has standardized the format of all declaration information.
- Declarations often comprise family members of declared parents as well. Unique family IDs for all the declared patents were identified using commercial patent databases. Only unique family members were considered for dashboard purposes.
- Our team has also identified information that is not disclosed in the declaration data itself, such as filing date, legal status of family, priority country of patents, and reassignment analysis of declared patents, and put it into the interactive dashboard.
- We update our dashboard with new information as soon as ETSI publishes the new special report. In the top right corner of the dashboard, we mention the date till the dashboard is updated.
